About Sehaj Path
Sehaj Path (ਸਹਿਜ ਪਾਠ) is a complete reading of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, from Ang 1 to Ang 1,430, taken at a calm and steady pace rather than in one continuous sitting. There is no fixed timetable: some families finish in a week, others read a few Angs each day over several months. What matters is reading with attention, respect and understanding.
This page lets you do your Sehaj Path online, Ang by Ang. Each Ang has its own page with the Gurbani in Gurmukhi, grouped by Shabad, and you can show Roman, Devanagari (Hindi) or Shahmukhi (Urdu) transliteration underneath if it helps your reading. Type an Ang number in the box at the top of this page to go straight to it, or browse by Ang or by Raag and Bani. Each Ang page links to the previous and next Ang, so you can carry on from where you stopped. If you read on this device, a Continue button and your progress appear at the top of this page; they are kept only in your browser.
Sehaj Path questions
What is Sehaj Path?
Sehaj Path is a complete, unhurried reading of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji from beginning to end. Unlike an Akhand Path, which is read without a break by a team of readers in about 48 hours, a Sehaj Path can be read by one person or a family, with pauses, at whatever pace suits them.
How long does a Sehaj Path take?
There is no set length. Reading about 10 Angs a day completes a Sehaj Path in roughly five months; reading 25 Angs a day takes about two months. Many people choose a pace they can keep up steadily, and finish with an Ardas and Bhog.
How many Angs are in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji?
Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has 1,430 Angs (pages). Every Ang is available here, from the Mool Mantar on Ang 1 to Raagmala on Ang 1,430.
Can I read Sehaj Path in English letters?
Yes. On every Ang page you can show Roman transliteration under the Gurmukhi, as well as Devanagari or Shahmukhi. The Gurmukhi is always shown, so you can learn to read it alongside the transliteration.
